My Mother is a Mum
She shops, cleans, cooks, gets sick,
keeps cooking.
Her life is a sacrifice she is
ambiguous about reclaiming.
The umbilical cord is never severed
entirely, her arms still ache for her
four babies,
she has
five hearts beating in her chest.
