Superstition

It’s not until it happens
that you believe
though no-one will believe you

 

and until it happens
you have disregarded black cats

and ladders
and number thirteen

clad in your sensible outlook

rationality   no-nonsense manner

but then you see the strange child

running for his ball
not stopping as he runs
runs effortless through your wall.
